WELCOME TO THE
Farm Community
Gardens
Welcome to the FaRM Community Garden Mowbray — a place for the Launceston community to connect, learn, and thrive. Here, we grow fresh produce together, fostering skills in growing, cooking, and sharing healthy, sustainable food. Our mission is to feed, educate, and rebuild the bond between food, people, and place, creating social, economic, and environmental resilience for everyone. Our garden not only supports the community but also provides individuals with training opportunities and supplies locals and small businesses with fresh, seasonal produce to purchase.
self-sufficient
The most important contribution of this project is the lasting well-being of our community. In an area that often experiences the effects of short-term funding, our self-sufficient social enterprise aims to foster trust and relationships, ensuring long-term change in addressing food insecurity and well-being. By cultivating fresh produce, we boost the community’s access to healthy food, enhance skills in sustainable agriculture, and even create small business opportunities through market gardening. Our garden becomes a hub where individuals can learn, grow, and develop skills that are transferable to other areas of life, promoting economic self-sufficiency.
The garden continues to foster community spirit and resilience through the generous support of donations and volunteer work. Together, we can build a sustainable future, empowering individuals and strengthening our community bonds.
